Our unique wedding list...

We are getting married on 4th April 2009 and we are really looking forward to seeing you on the day.

We would love to finish our house and add a few special touches. As you may know we love art deco and "previously loved" things with character and charm. We often buy from ebay, auctions, charity shops, unusual websites and flea markets.

We have therefore given you a few ideas of things we would be really grateful to receive. Some items are readily available, whilst some may require a little more searching!

1. Browse the site and find something you/ we fancy!
2. Please reply to the item if you would like to "source" it for us, so other guests are aware. Some items are "multiple"...but obviously you don't have to get the total number (1 picture frame rather than 20!)
3. Click on the heading and then the comment box will appear underneath the item.
4. Please leave us a message, either with your name (click "name/URL" on the drop down menu) or anonymously (click "anonymously").
5. When something has "gone", i will make the post red - for future easy browsing!

For an example, of this working smoothly please see the post called "Testing, Testing....1,2,3"

Thank you...

1930's Typewriter - £?

Apparently everyone sneaks something onto the wedding list, not wanted by the other person - this is my item (Heather speaking!)

We have a lovely desk which we bought at auction and a typewriter from the 1930's would look great on it.

This is my second time of trying to "acquire" one. The first time was in the summer when staying with U. Brian. We found an amazing emporium in a shed near a bridge in North Devon, full of fab things including a typewriter, like this. Stoods vetoed the purchase on the grounds of weight, dust collecting and room in car. Later in the week, when I had persuaded Stoods to return - we couldn't find it ... or so he told me!

Art Deco Flame Outside Light - £?

At least 2-3 times a week I drive past the Famous 3 Kings pub, on the A4 in Kensington, for work. (edited to read "used to"!) It has about 10 brilliant flame lights, which look amazing, all the way around it. You can just about see them in the photo.

I just adore them and would love just one outside our front door. (A double one would be fine too)

I have no idea where to start looking, as those I have found are either just shades or for indoor use.  There must be one with our name on it somewhere....oh, and no pinching them from the pub !

Bedside Lights - £50 to £100 each

We have some beautiful bedside tables and would love a bedside light each to go on top - so we can read in bed!

This is our very own "mood board" of lights we like - these are all on ebay at the moment and there is generally a good selection - so happy bidding ! The lights definitely do not have to be a pair - we think it would be nicer if they were different.

Teasmade - £??

This is just gorgeous.... well we think so! It will look great in our bedroom.

I would love to find one that works, so we can sit in bed like an old married couple and have a cup of tea!

I think this will be an ebay search.... Goblin was one of the major manufacturers. I would love it to work, not be likely to electrocute us and not have any visible damage, especially to the china pot.

Olive Tree - £?

I would love an Olive Tree in a pretty pot for the roof terrace.

This will however be our first olive tree so please can we also have some care instructions/booklet.

I would like one about the size of a standard lamp - too large and it will not pass the "weight on roof terrace" test and we won't be able to carry it up the stairs.

Cookery Book Gridlock Solution- £15.50

We love cookery books - and the little shelf we have in the kitchen is very full!

This "hidden" book shelf will look great with all my Jamie O books stacked neatly together and The Silver Spoon and Larousse will no longer be in danger of falling!

This is on www.umbra.com and we need the large one please...

Elderly Deckchair with new covers- £ ??

An unloved, elderly deckchair can have a gentle retirement on our terrace!

The picture is a fabulous Edwardian one with new coverings from www.deckchairstripes.com.

If you find a frame in a corner of a shed, we would love to recover it and give it a home. Pls do choose the material for us.

New "seats" for our old double deckchair - £25.50

I have fond memories of sitting on our rather, mouldy deckchair with Tara drinking champagne and chatting about Stoods, the afternoon he proposed - whilst he skipped off sailing for 3 days!

The years in the garage have not been kind and we would like 2 new seats. (They are slung separately)

www.deckchairstripes.com is a really jolly website.

We like the fabric called "surfing" and will require 2 x 1.5 m lengths in the narrow (45cm) fabric. I have an upholstery staple gun - to attach them.

Double Deckchair- £99.99

We would love another double deckchair for the roof terrace - but I think finding another "vintage" one will be tough.

I have found this one on www.blueworldgardener.co.uk  - shame its not stripey !

It is called the wide boy !

Double Rainbow Hammock -£45.00

Lazy days...

This hammock is from Hen and Hammock (www.henandhammock.co.uk)

We will get some really big, sturdy, eye bolts so we can put it between the two walls on the roof terrace.

KitchenAid Mixer in Cream -£349

We have borrowed one of these at the moment - (thanks Andrew) - to assist with Wedding Cake mixing to stop our arms falling off.

Andrew wants to make his own cakes so we would like one in cream to match the blender Stoods has already.

They are available in big department stores, kitchen shops and online.

Art Deco Chrome Lemon Squeeze - £ ?

This will be a challenge ... I have been looking high and low for about 18 months with no success !

An art deco, chrome, lemon squeeze which will fit in the top of our drinks cabinet. The diameter is about 10 cm.

It would have been a single piece (rather than two, as in the picture)

Cake Stand / Plate (Emma Bridgewater) £49.95

Cake.....mmmm!

This is a lovely shaped cake stand by Emma Bridgwater. We do like the dots but do feel free to go for another pattern if you prefer.

Banana and chocolate loaf cake for everyone!

Le Creuset Frying Pan 26cm - approx.£60

Yummm....sausages !

A Le Creuset frying pan - either in charcoal or almond or teal, you decide (we think either would look lovely in our green-ish kitchen)

Le Creuset is sometimes really good value on amazon.co.uk but is also sold in cook shops and well known department stores.

Cupboard Knobs 8 x £2.95

We would love 8 of the rose pink door knobs. They will go on the cupboard doors in Sophie's room and give a gorgeous sparkle.

They can be found in Graham and Green
(www.grahamandgreen.co.uk) and come in two sizes. We would like the small ones which are £2.95 each.
