Our unique wedding list...

We are getting married on 4th April 2009 and we are really looking forward to seeing you on the day.

We would love to finish our house and add a few special touches. As you may know we love art deco and "previously loved" things with character and charm. We often buy from ebay, auctions, charity shops, unusual websites and flea markets.

We have therefore given you a few ideas of things we would be really grateful to receive. Some items are readily available, whilst some may require a little more searching!

1. Browse the site and find something you/ we fancy!
2. Please reply to the item if you would like to "source" it for us, so other guests are aware. Some items are "multiple"...but obviously you don't have to get the total number (1 picture frame rather than 20!)
3. Click on the heading and then the comment box will appear underneath the item.
4. Please leave us a message, either with your name (click "name/URL" on the drop down menu) or anonymously (click "anonymously").
5. When something has "gone", i will make the post red - for future easy browsing!

For an example, of this working smoothly please see the post called "Testing, Testing....1,2,3"

Thank you...

Veggies and Salad for our Garden - £36.99

We would like some vegetables and salad plants for our "garden"....so if we win the battle with the snails, we can have home grown (and cheap) veggies this summer.

www.rocketgardens.co.uk sends you ready started plants so you have more chance of success. (or your snails are fed well from day 1!)

The Patio Container garden has toms, lettuce, rocket, peas, beans, strawberries etc.....or if you have green fingers you can start them for us !

Material for our door curtain -£?

Stoods and i need another trip to a Peter Jones to decide on the exact fabric... but we are leaning towards dark, patterned, velvet...

don't panic GP - it won't touch you when you come through the door...due to the nifty portiere (see previous post)!

Some John Lewis vouchers for the material, lining, heading tape and cotton will get Thelbridge Curtains and Blinds started!

Georg Jensen sugar bowl - £36

sugar and spice and all things nice....

this is in john lewis and the lovely Georg Jensen shop on Bond Street

Georg Jensen teapot - £126

Portiere for the Front Door - £56

i have learnt a new word today...

portiere = special curtain pole made for the back of a door...

Our front door is quite drafty and a gorgeous dark velvet curtain will look great.

we would like a "self-closing" portiere from jim-lawerence.co.uk in the polished finish with glass finial (code:686L) with a length of 97cm.
(14 curtain rings would also be great, if possible)

Vintage Basket Locker for Bathroom Cabinet - $525 plus shipping

We would like a reconditioned vintage basket locker for our bathroom...

We would like one the same size and shape as the white one  ("2x2") but without wheels (like the green one). We would like our 4 baskets to be in "spring mist" to match the bathroom and the frame in a clear coated finish.

They are from america on www.twentygauge.com....they have quoted $525 plus shipping... so our weak £ is not very helpful ... sorry guys! (the email contact address is jc@twentygauge.com)

I also love the architectural plan chest coffee tables....but already have a lovely coffee table... too much gorgeous furniture not enough space!

Vintage Soda Syphon - approx. £5-10

vodka lime and soda.......orange and soda......

making our own must be cheaper than buying it in horrid plastic bottles.....

There are lots on ebay between £5 and £10 this morning. We would prefer a glass one please.

some gas thing-ys to make it fizz would also be handy.

Large Cafetiere - approx. £20

I smashed ours this morning - oops!

A large-ish one in black or chrome please

Groovy Dresser for the Kitchen - £340

spuds....tea cups.....kilner jars..... cake stands

This is made from reclaimed pine and has blackboard panels on the front for labels.

We would like one (as shown) with 20 "pigeon holes"

It is on a very cool website -metroretro.co.uk in the storage section....or a handy carpenter could maybe make it. (the dimensions are on the site)

Stoods and I have tried to choose some fabric so that i can make a curtain for the top room - so Sophie and our guests can have some privacy! I think i might debut a roller blind too as the one we have is nasty....

Some John Lewis vouchers for the fabric, lining, cotton and heading tape will be much appreciated. We will need approx. 15 metres depending on pattern repeats etc.

"Testing, Testing .....1,2,3"

will this blog / wedding list even work?!...

My gorg. bridesmaids - Tastic, Al and Sops as well as Mr & Mrs Smith Jnr, Mrs Thornton and Mr & Mrs Smith Snr, have various combinations of blogging experience (from never to blogging in Italian) and span the generations! They have all been kind enough to sit on our testing panel.

If they can do it, everyone can!

Chrome - to finish refurbing our original Herbert Terry anglepoise

Anyone up for a challenge?!....
It looked worse than this when i bought it on ebay.........

but i wanted it to look like this....

so i dismantled it, (whilst drawing lots of diagrams for easy reassembly,) stripped it and have bought the original flex to rewire it..... but i cannot find anyone to chrome the parts...can anyone help??
Stoods will be delighted as the utility room will look less like scrap heap challenge..!
(I really hope i can understand my dotty scribbles ...eek!)

Cake Tins/Silicon -£10-20

Victoria Sponge: take 2 x 20 cm silicon cake "tins" and preheat the oven to 180 C, etc etc
I would also love to made Madelines as they look so pretty......we will also need a tin (or silicon)

Anglepoise Type 1228 in grey with floorstand - £145 + £47.50

This will be lovely in our living room... it looks a bit crazy in the picture but fab in real life.

We saw it in John Lewis and it is also on www.anglepoise.com

Do have a look at the Giant anglepoise which is just fab, but too big (and too expensive)- most annoying.

The prices mentioned above are the price in JL.
